"In a scene like this, I get a contact high"

Valley of the Dolls is one of my favourite books, in a so bad it's great kind of way. Considering it was so ahead of it's time, it's also remarkably backwards in parts...when one character discovers she's got breast cancer, her friend comforts her with these wise words:"Some people have automobile accidents, have their faces disfigured, lose limbs...or worse, some women are born naturally flat chested"

The film version is atrocious but I love it too, and the sequel, "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls" was probably the most shockingly bad, AMAZING thing I ever saw in my life.
