Ammmmaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing...

...one of my favourite songs and I love this video.
Jarvis Cocker and Richard Hawley - Born to Cry

Only in dreams

Finished pieces...sort of.

Here are the final pieces for my Native American Indian legend project...they need a bit more work and some touching up...also the white gouache on the circular rabbit piece is rubbing off on fucking everything. And I accidentally rubbed some paint off the little owl boy. Which is just brilliant.
I don't feel I can give them away until I can figure out a way to stop the paint getting all over everything.

And the wallowing continues!

Bit of a contrast...

..but no less beautiful. Probably my favourite PJ Harvey song. I do enjoy to listen to it and wallow!

I linger on dear.

One of my favourite songs and this is one of the best versions, it's so beautiful.

Come back to me, Flock to me.

And here's some more work from Heli, Karen, Eoin and Karen.

Come back to me, Flock to me.

So, yeah, the exhibition seemed to go really well and there was quite a positive response from everybody who visited the opening. I sold some more work and one really nice lady wants to commission some work off me so that was cool. I was quite nervy going around though and sincerely apologise to all the unfortunate people I spilt my wine over (poor Orla and Gwen got the worst of it).

The rest of the night was a bit...strange. Though that might have been because I wasn't supposed to drink with the tablets I had taken.

Here's some of the work from me, Karen, Heli, Mike and Thomas.

Show set up

So many Zines.

Injins so far...

My finished pieces are really not going to plan....there are so many things I want to change but just don't have the time to...I'm starting to think I'd have been much better off getting at least one that I was happy with, rather than six crappy ones...I have to go back and change them, but this is what I have so far...

I really feel the Exputex should get a special mention too.

For I am sick at heart, my dear.

I've been telling Marianne to listen to Nick Cave for the past...three years now...and she's IGNORED me every time...until a BOY recommended him and now she's a fan (What happened to the SISTERHOOD Marianne?!). Anywayyyyyyyy, she uploaded one of my favourite songs, lyrics wise,to Facebook and I forgot how much I loved it...so I'll be plastering it everywhere now!

And Cannibals Hymn too, because I laav it!

"In a scene like this, I get a contact high"

Valley of the Dolls is one of my favourite books, in a so bad it's great kind of way. Considering it was so ahead of it's time, it's also remarkably backwards in parts...when one character discovers she's got breast cancer, her friend comforts her with these wise words:"Some people have automobile accidents, have their faces disfigured, lose limbs...or worse, some women are born naturally flat chested"

The film version is atrocious but I love it too, and the sequel, "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls" was probably the most shockingly bad, AMAZING thing I ever saw in my life.

Yet another feather..

Here's the original feather I did...the line's are nowhere near as delicate as I'd like them to be, but my eyes are getting really screwed up from using a 0.05 pen...a weeeeee little baby pen...so I had to use a 0.2 instead...couldn't find my 0.1 pen.
It really pisses me off that whenever I scan something in using the scanner in the computer room in college it's automatically called...the name of my ENEMY, Enrique Iglesias from graphic design...mouth all fucking mighty! I'm waiting for the day he starts self harming JUST so can get even more attention from the tutors...grrr...

I'm a lover not a hater really.

You float like a featherrrrrrrrr

Here's something I've never done before...

Come to me Violent Femmes...

After Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, the Violent Femmes are probably my favourite band...I live in hope that they will magically regroup and tour and Gordan Gano will dedicate "Please do not go" to me like he did Libby...er,so yeah!

On the long list of things I fail at...

...digital art is probably quite high up there on the list. I notice my friends are uploading their photoshop digital Pride and Prejudice and Zombie illustrations and they look amazing...but my poor Chernobyl-esque effort can fuck off...if I had my way it would never see the light of day again.

All my work is going really badly at the minute actually...I was really looking forward to this final project but I hate how it's turning out...it's all looking really twee and the watercolour is looking awful on the wood and brown paper...and to make matters worse, some of the illustrations of little boys with masks are looking QUITE homoerotic...:/

Here's a rough of a little hare person portrait...there's too much white and I really don't like how the colours are sitting together....boohoohoo.

On a brighter note though, my lovely friend Rob assured me that the moon could not possibly shatter...so even if the world does end, we should still hopefully have light during the night time!
